FREE WHEELCHAIR PROGRAM

UDF is the best organization in Tanzania that has signed  an agreement with Free Wheelchairs Mission who have their manufacturing industry in China.

UDF has provided thousands of disabled people throughout Central, Northern, and Southern Tanzania  That’s, Shinyanga region, Arusha Region,Iringa region in MufindiDistrict,and Mbeya region,with quality wheelchairs. Reaching more and more disabled people as the project continues to expand, UDF will be distributing two containers of  40ft of 550 wheelchairs  with its spare parts, throughout Tanzania every three months. Most recently UDF distributed wheelchairs in Arusha, Tanzania alongside FreeWheelChairs USA. 

Our Aim is that when we reach 2025 every person who is disable in Tanzania should have a wheelchair.Further expanding on the program, We thank that each district in Tanzania is contributing  for clearing the containers at the port of Dar es salaam and they responciple for assembling them and distributing them to the people with disabilities in their areas. We thank the government of Tanzania, NGOs, FBOs who have been of great assistance to us and the people with disabilities.

According to Dell Fuller, a former Pilot of Delta Airsways who visited Kenya and  Tanzania in Feburuary 2010, Tanzania is the first country In the world who has accepted this project of wheelchairs as he saw himself the district commissioner of Mufindi Hon EvaristaKalalu, who was so busy distributing the wheelchairs in remote villages where the vehicles were stucking due to mad and bad roads in villages.

He was amused to see the government officials who were so busy helping the people with disabilities. UDF hopes to provide vocational training to a number of disabled people involved with the project.
